社会经济地位会影响人们的健康。不管是在发达国家还是发展中国家，都可以发现一个人的社会经济地位越高，他的健康状况越好。从多病因角度来看，除了遗传和物理因素之外，健康问题和疾病主要是由各种各样的社会因素所决定的。根据与健康因果关系的远近，所有的社会决定因素可以分为近端因素，中端因素和远端因素三个层次。一些研究已经表明近端因素生活习惯对社会经济地位产生的健康不平等具有中介作用，但中端因素社会交往是否能够调节社会经济地位产生的健康不平等却有待检验。本研究以日本和中国的两个城市老年人为例，进行了大规模的问卷调查和追
