He will take you from the beginnings of man in the Great Rift Valley of Africa to the lime colored gas chamber of San Quentin State Penitentiary in California. From the beginnings of surfing (not in Hawaii) to the gunfight at the OK Corral this is a great American novel that is neither restricted to time or space.
