《新月集》是印度詩人、作家泰戈爾創作的詩集，主要來源于泰戈爾在1903年出版的孟加拉文詩集《兒童集》，也有的是用英文直接創作的。在《新月集》中，詩人書寫孩子純凈的心靈，也描寫孩子和母親的感情。“他知道慈母心中小小一角就可以容納無窮的歡樂，被母親逮住了緊抱在她慈愛的雙臂里，遠比自由甜蜜。”在詩人的筆下，詩中的母親帶有一種圣潔的光輝。如果說泰戈爾歌頌的孩子對母親的愛，像清沏的小溪，在陽光的折射下，產生活撥的美、晶瑩的美；那么，泰戈爾描寫的孩子對大自然的愛，就如月夜下的竹笛，所產生的美感是那般輕幽、純凈。泰戈爾認為，宇宙zui根本的原則是和諧與協調。
